One Thing At A Time

Eating vegetables shrinks your brain.

Yeah, no crap it does. That's why I'm such a genius. I never touch vegetables so my brain is enormous.

I was actually thinking about vegetables this morning as I ate my Chocolate Lucky Charms for breakfast, and then again later when I had my #2 Extra Value Meal at McDonald's for lunch. I don't eat very healthy. I intend to eat healthier, but I don't plan on starting that project until I'm done losing the weight. I know that seems backwards to a lot of people, but it's the way I'm choosing to do things. I think eating healthier is definitely a worthwhile goal, but I also think it's a separate goal from losing weight. We often make them one and the same but I don't think we need to. In fact I know we don't.

If you find the idea of starting a diet overwhelming because you not only have to start eating a lot less but you also have to start eating an entirely different type of food, the truth is that you don't. You can take things one step at a time. Lose the weight. Then start eating healthier. I'm convinced that may be a better way to go about it in the long run because, as I've mentioned before, if you can lose weight while eating "bad" food, then you should theoretically have no problem keeping the weight off eating good or bad food because you've trained yourself to be able to eat unhealthy foods in small amounts.

Time to go grow my brain with some Nerds Rope and a Yoo-Hoo.
